Christ the King Cathdral School was established in 1957. When the Diocese of Lubbock was formed from the Diocese of Amarillo in 1983, Christ the King parish became the cathedral parish. At that time the name was changed to Christ the King Cathedral School. Currently, the school operates a full, accredited curriculum ranging from pre-K through 12th grade.
Christ the King School offers a nurturing environment and a distinctive education that aims to give students the formation necessary to lead a full and active Christian life. This distinctiveness is characterized by a common core of beliefs that generate a community permeated by the Spirit of Love.
We integrate the teachings of the Catholic Church and create a Christian atmosphere that incorporates Gospel values into daily life. We give expression to our faith in the form of liturgy, prayer and service. We express concern for others with a focus on social justice and reach out in faith to those in need in our community.
Christ the King School is accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference of Accreditation Commission (TCCAC). The TCCAC designs and accredits Texas Catholic Schools. The TCCAC is an approved Texas Private School Accreditation body and carries the Texas Education Agency(TEA) endorsement.

May 5, 2013 | by Christine WanjuraChildren learn by imitation, which makes it wise for parents to be aware of the role models our children choose. Today’s choices can be actors, rock stars, or athletes who may not have the most admirable qualities. It is important to offer a variety of role models to help shape how children behave in school, with friends, or at home.
