My name is Barry Donaldson and I have been
married to my lovely wife for 25 years. I have two sons Sean 22 and
Matthew 20, and a Daughter-in-law, Christin, who is pregnant with my
first granddaughter Jordon. I also have a 4 yr. old grandson Gage
from a relationship Sean had 4 years ago.
I enjoy fly fishing, martial arts, sports, hunting, camping, skiing
and hanging out with young people at youth functions. I work for a
small plastic injection molding company and have worked there for 9
years as a mold maker. There I repair tooling, design and build
secondary operation fixtures. I have been working with Christ the
King youth going on 6 years. I’m in charge of props, sound systems
for Mass and time keeping for our LIFE Nights.
I’ve been the sound engineer for our LIFE Teen band for about a year
and a half and I’m starting to get the hang of running the sound
system at the church.
I am Diane Botello, my wonderful husband Tom
and I have 4 children. Randa age 27, Dustin age 24, Alyssa age 15, and
Trey age 12. I am a Registered Nurse and I am employed as a faculty
associate/instructor at Texas Tech Health Sciences School of Nursing
and the Garrison Institute on Aging. I converted to the Catholic
faith 10 years ago at CTK and have been blessed to be a part of many
organizations within our CTK family. I served on the religious
education commission for 5 years and I am on my 5th year of teaching
CCE. After several years of being a partially committed youth
volunteer, last year I committed to work with this great LifeTeen
group. This is such an important ministry, leading our teens closer to
Christ. They are the future of our Church. Watching our youth get
excited about learning about our beautiful Catholic faith is so
refreshing!
My name is Mandi Klein. I am originally from
Hereford, TX, where I lived with my parents and younger sister, Pam.
I graduated from Angelo State University in December 2003 with a

Mathematics at Texas Tech. I received a Masters of Science degree in
Mathematics in August 2005. I am currently working on my PhD in
Mathematics Education. While I am going to school, I am working as a
Graduate Part-Time Instructor for the Mathematics and Statistics
Department at Texas Tech. When I am not going to school or teaching,
I enjoy spending time with my fiancé Dustin, my (spoiled) cat Dakota,
or my friends.

Audrey was born at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX and has lived in places
such as: Washington, South Carolina, Georgia, Germany and Texas. The
oldest of 8 children, Audrey has been the “second mother” to her
siblings ever since she can remember. She graduated valedictorian
from Anson High School, a small 2A school north of Abilene on Hwy
277. Soon thereafter, she lived in Waco, Arlington, and Anson in
short stints before moving to Lubbock.
Currently Audrey works full time for the Telecommunications Services
department of the Information Technology Division at Texas Tech
University. She also is diligently working toward finishing a
bachelor’s degree in Cell & Molecular Biology with minors in chemistry
and philosophy. Audrey has her certification in CPR, is a registered
EMT-B, and has had a few written works published. She is single and
has no children, but looks forward to the day she can wear a ring and
hold her own baby. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing,
playing the guitar, singing, and coffee, card playing, dancing, and
discussing philosophy or biology.
Audrey’s heart was drawn for the first time to LIFETEEN in
November/December of 2003. Her aunt Susan Englerth, and her mother,
finally convinced her to fill out an application for the newly-forming
Core team at Christ the King at some point in early 2004. Audrey was
accepted after the interview process and was excited about all LT
could offer – she never had access to this kind of program when she
was a teenager! In the early summer of 2004, Audrey answered the call
to become the band/worship leader for the cathedral’s LT music group.
Although she had an extensive musical background, Audrey had just
begun to learn how to play the guitar.
I thank God constantly for the gift of ministry with teens. I have
been blessed abundantly with friends and talents I never imagined. I
feel God has called me to not be afraid.”
Currently, Sheilah works full time for the
Garrison Institute on Aging at the Texas Tech University Health
Sciences Center (www.ttuhsc.edu/aging). As the Associate Director for
Operations and Development, Sheilah concentrates her energy on
development and marketing activities, community outreach and health
professional education programs, and other administrative
responsibilities. She is dedicated to improving the lives of others in
both her service and vocation.
Sheilah met her husband, Lance, 10 years ago while attending college
at Texas A&M University in College Station. She is a proud member of
the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 1999, and graduated with a B.S. in
Community Health Education. She enjoys spending time with family and
friends (in both Texas and Washington), movies, live music, reading,
crafts, gardening, hiking, card playing, quilting, and
home-improvement projects.
Sheilah and her husband relocated to Lubbock in 2002 from Bellingham,
WA; in Washington, she was actively involved in mentoring and
training teens as part of her job in Tobacco Prevention and her local
church's religious education programs. Sheilah greatly admires the
talents and insightfulness of teens and missed working with them in
her current position. After joining Christ the King Cathedral Parish
in 2005 she was drawn to participate in LIFETEEN in January of 2006.
It is an exciting ministry program and she hopes to grow in faith
while serving God and others!
My name is Kristin Teinert. I am currently
a, sophomore public relations major at Texas Tech University. I have
lived in Lubbock my whole life and graduated for Coronado high School
in 2004. I work for Lubbock Swim Club as a swim coach for kids
between the ages of five and ten. My passion in life is working with
and being around amazing people especially High School and Junior High
Students. The passion is truly a gift from God and I am just so
grateful to be able to serve Him, and listen to His call and be apart
of the LIFE TEEN Core.
Hi, I’m Valerie Gonzales and I’m a CTK LIFE
TEEN Core Member. I also teach 4th grade at Dupre Elementary school
in Lubbock. I love working with kids of all ages! I am the oldest of
five children and my family still lives in my hometown of Dimmitt. I
enjoy reading and writing in my spare time. I felt the calling to
LIFE TEEN over the summer; I had previously worked with LIFE TEEN at
St Anthony’s in Hereford. I love to work retreats and mission because
I enjoy the special feeling I get from serving others. Some of my
favorite moments this year at CTK have been the ropes course at CETA
Canyon, the Third Day concert, and performing the Spartan cheerleading
skit for a LIFE Night. I love being around this core team because
they always make me laugh. I enjoy working with these teens because I
find it so cool to see teenagers on fire for God.
My favorite scripture is Psalm 62:2 “He alone is my rock and
salvation, my fortress, I shall never be shaken!”
My name is Terri Christensen and I attend CTK
with my husband, Doug and our son, Robby. We have a Boxer, Duchess,
who is 10 years old. At the present, I teach seventh grade math at
Irons JHS. My favorite hobby is reading, especially mysteries. I
also enjoy hiking and power walking. After having taught CCE first
grade through eighth grade, I because involved with LIFE TEEN because
I wanted to continue to participate in activities that influenced by
son’s spiritual growth.
Hi, My name is Deane Pfannenstiel. I’m
married with 2 precious Sheltie dogs. I’m a teacher at Christ the
King school and I love to play tennis. I love contemporary Christian
Music which is one reason I love the Praise and Worship we do with
LIFE TEEN.
Why am I in LIFE TEEN? I was definitely called to do this. God
planted a seed in my heart! I didn’t really know a lot about LT at all
(except what Sister Lisa had told me and Mary Boone) but I was really
interested in it for some reason. God put the desire in my heart to
inquire and I couldn’t help but respond. Thanks God!
